100 - made it to the century mark...

Blog 100 - made it to the century mark. This is the first time! I usually lose interest long before this point. I'm good for about 3 months, then the weight loss slows down and I return to my old habits. Not this time!

Want to update everyone on my weekend. Friday at the Lions game, all went well. Got all my steps in on the fitbit, had a coney dog, and the Lions won! Who could ask for more than that?

Saturday, got up, ran errands, got groceries, celebrated Jack's birthday. He was so excited to throw out the first pitch. Have some pics I will post later. While at the ballpark, had a brat and some of my granddaughter's cotton candy - talk about pure sugar! Towards the end of the night, I notice my knee doctor was sitting in our row. Was good to be seeing him there instead of in his office with a knee problem! I was a couple hundred steps short on my fitbit, so was a bit disappointed with my exercise effort and my slip up on healthy eating - but it wasn't a total loss.

Sunday was another story. Got up at 6 to head north. Picked up a plain turkey sandwich from subway with spinach on it for my lunch. Had my water and vitamin water zero. We paddled for 4.5 hours- my shoulder was a bit sore! Afterwards everyone went to Dairy Queen - where I was going to opt for a small cone - but ended up having a turtle sundae. Go figure - it looked good and I was hungry - and I caved in. After eating the WHOLE thing, I felt a bit sick. Got home at 9:30pm - and I was tired. Didn't even attempt to get any steps in. I think my total steps for the day were around 3,000. Felt I got some workout in the canoe and my body was crying for rest. Food choices - not enough food (only the sandwich and then the sundae) and a lot of empty calories with the sundae. Exercise - felt like I was a total slug in the step department, but overall with the canoeing, felt tired. Not my best day.

Monday I went to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago with my daughter's family and my son. Breakfast was a sausage mcmuffin in the car. Dinner was pizza. Sodium, carb and calorie heaven. I did manage to get all my steps in at the zoo, my feet were tired, but can't say it was a challenging workout!

I was tempted to see how Mr Scale disapproved of my weekend, but I stayed away. I've been hard enough on myself without his adding another layer of guilt and shame!

So today it's back at work, back in my routine ---AND I am walking a 5k tonight. I am still tired from the busy weekend, and my knee is aching after the canoe trip. For some reason sitting in that canoe was causing it to ache. Looking forward to doing the 5k and finishing it. It will be interesting to see what kind of time it takes me to finish!
