OMG - blog 99! I am on the verge of entering 100 blogs! I am looking forward to a challenging, fun filled, temptation filled weekend.
Today I am leaving work early, as my son-in-law snagged some tickets to the Lions preseason opener in Detroit. Yes, I am ready for some football - but being a football fan in Michigan is a challenge. The Lions - well - you never know with the Lions. But today is a clean slate with endless possibilities for them, let's see what they do with it! The game is a sell out and should be fun.
Knowing that I would be in the car for a good portion of the afternoon/evening and sitting in a chair for the other portion - I got up early and got 2 miles in on the treadmill. Going to get the other two miles in on my way home from work. So, walk will be done before I leave any walking done in Detroit will be bonus steps! - one good thing
I also know that we will be having some of those Detroit coney dogs - so, I have really watched my calorie and carb intake this morning- so I should be able to build them into my calorie count for the day - another good thing! Pat on the back - I even avoided that yummy Arnie's cake in the kitchen at work!
Tomorrow is my son's birthday. He will be throwing out the first pitch at the Whitecaps game. I know tomorrow will involve birthday cake - and ball park food temptations. We will be getting together before the game - grilling some healthy chicken & veggies - but then there will be that cake. I am planning on getting all my walking in early - and will allow myself a small piece of cake. I hate to open that door to sweets, because it is always so hard to close! I am hoping that with eating before the game, that ball park food will not tempt me as much. Time will tell!
Sunday we are heading up north for a day of paddling on the AuSable river - packing lunch - so should be able to eat healthy and all that paddling has to count for something! The challenge will be to avoid eating out for supper - or trying to at least make a healthy choice when we eat out. Getting my steps in will be another challenge as we are leaving early - and will be getting in late. I might have to cut myself some slack on the steps - but I am going to try!
Doing my best to navigate the shark infested waters of temptations, treats and excuses not to exercise. I have a plan - let's hope I am able to stick with it!!!
