Being 3rd

Monday, August 05, 2013

You know, I really don't mind being third in our SparkPoints Fitness Leader Boards. That means I'm helping to push two other people to do more minutes of physical activity than I am. That means two other people are trying harder than I am to get more exercise minutes and become "their better person". However, I must warn you: my desire to to do more may be stronger than yours and that the game, as they say, is on. I'll call it, competitive accountability and I look foward to seeing our team fitness minutes go higher and higher as I push from 3rd place, harder and harder. This is only the fifth of August, and tomorrow is my birthday. Yikes!!!!!

Happy birthday in advance Have a great day tomorrow! emoticon I do believe you have some competitiveness in you!! I hope you can get to the top!! If I can be leader in my town at 58 years of age with a bad back I know you can too! I love my exercise and sometimes I get carried away. Yesterday I was at it for 4 hrs with 2 hr, 50 min on my elliptical, 1 hr strength training and 10 stretching. Please excuse my bragging but I am proud to be able to do this...

I do my own Insanity workout!

Thanks for your comment on my blog about the friend who succombed to his drug addiction. This is the topic that fueled my lengthy time on the elliptical. It kept me distracted as I tried to understand how someone could put drugs above everything important. He did this in betrayal of God, wife, children, job, friends, family and the book he wrote about his prior ordeal. How low can you go! I guess he gaining new material for his next book which should be about his own "My Selfishness"!
I went back and read the reviews of his book. One that gave him a bad review stood out in my mind. The reviewer has read many self help books and commented on the lack of self reproach in the book. In his book he briefly mentioned and talked about his early relationship with God and his dependency on AA but failed to give God credit for his success. It did not appear as though he trully connected with God ror relied on him as he should. The title of his book "Incomprehensible Demoralization" was a tip off that he was not truly rehabed from his problem.

Sorry for the long reply to your blog but I am still trying to understand what happened. Thanks for allowing me to digress from your blog. emoticon emoticon

Have a fantastic Bday tomorrow!!! emoticon
