So I am trying to get myself in the mood. I really want and need to get back on track again. Things are getting better here. My Mom has decided to go to NV for the winter to be with my sister. I am going to take her, by flying with her, then in a few weeks I will go on down to my sons in SC., for the winter myself. Leaving Mom with Sue. I will have to go back there to take Mom back home. I am hoping Mom will decide to stay and live with Sue. Mom will be 91 in Dec. she needs more help, this would be a great thing for her. So keep praying Mom will like it at Sues this winter.

Me I want to take care of self this winter, I want to lose 50 pounds within the coming year, It will be my anniversary next week will have been here on spark since Aug 9 th 2009. That is 4 years. SO I need to get motivated to want to lose this weight again.

So need help here from all my friends. Anyone want to do the challenge with me?

Concentrate on the positive things you can do! Eating fresh fruits and veggies, drinking your water, and exercising! You are a good daughter to take care of your mother like you are, but you need ME time, too!

Prepare and plan food and fitness. Small steps. Channel your energy into this journey. Deal with EMOTIONS! We all know this has more to do with the mind than the food.

I would love to do a challenge with you!! I see that you are also a part of the FitBit team. I have just ordered a FitBit and looking forward to it arriving. Perhaps we can be FitBit friends and keep each other motivated. I work at a desk each day to getting in steps is tough, I need to find ways to motivate myself to move more!!

I committed myself to a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise a day on June 25th and I have been successful each day since then. I am on a streak!!

Hope she enjoys her visit enough to stay for a while so you can do some things that you want to do. I misunderstood on the 1950 page thinking you said it was her sister. You have had a rough year and you need to have some fun!

Just make the commitment and follow through. Take one day at a time and you'll quickly see that you CAN do it. emoticon emoticon emoticon

*hugs* Your mom is in my thoughts! I hope everything goes well for you! Just remember- baby steps, like the others said. You can do this! Plan for setbacks, plan for days when you just can't get out of bed to exercise (but don't have a lot of those) and remember- Cleaning is an exercise. We all have to do it, but if you do it with gusto, it counts as cardio!

I hope everything works out for you, your sister and your mom. It sounds like it's time for your sister to help out and for you to concentrate on you and that's ok. Eat well, drink enough water, get in your exercise and rest when needed. You are a great daughter, but it's ok to have others help out, too!

Good luck and keep at it. emoticon

Okay, you've had a few pieces of solid advice.
    1. get some help with caregiving
    2. Start as if you were just joining
    a. baby steps just 1 or 2 small goals and when you've stuck with those for a week or so, add another. Like maybe planned meals, or no second helpings, or measuring all my food for the nutrition part. Maybe a 10 minute walk in the morning or at noon for the physical part. You get the idea and I know you can do it.
I myself am a caregiver, my son has hired help four times a week to give me a break. If you can't afford hired help see if your church/synagogue has a group of people who would just come sit with your mom while you go shopping, or to the beauty shop once a month to pamper yourself.
I'm starting over this week recording all I eat, I've been slipping a lot this last few weeks, I need to be mindful.

Hoping everything works out the way you want. Nevada sounds like a better climate than in the Northeast for winder anyway.
Good luck with all of your plans!

Start like you did in the beginning. Plan your meals and exercise a week at a time. A woman with a plan makes it happen. Nothing better than feeling good and healthy. Any improvement is step in the right direction. Looking forward to see a smaller and healthier you! emoticon emoticon

emoticon Support is one of the things we are here for. Let us know what you. Have you looked at any of information about caregiving? There are some things that can help. If your mom has been hospitalized you can make use of the Social Services at the hospital. Her physician also can put you in touch with some agencies.

Caring for an aging parent is a big responsibility, been there done that. Now it's time to concentrate on YOU. You can do this and I know you will do it. Enjoy your time in South Carolina. Haven't been there but hear it is a beautiful state.
