4 weeks into maintenance

There are no happy endings..there is just an ending followed by a new beginning.
Those were the words that I heard on a TV show last week by a girl who was talking about graduation on a sitcom.
Those words really hit home for me.
We never live happily ever after.
We come to the end of one journey and then begin on another no matter what in life we are talking about.
Beginnings can be wonderful, stressful, joyful, exciting, scary, all kinds of emotions come into play.
I am talking about my ending of the weight loss journey and the beginning of my maintenance journey.
13+ months after starting Spark People, I am smack dab in the middle of a very healthy BMI and decided it was time to switch to maintenance.
As excited as I am to be here, I have to say that I am a bit scared, a bit stressed, very excited and happy.
Why am I scared? because all of a sudden I have more calories allowed per day.
I don't always eat that many per day and it again is all about adjusting and finding out what works for me.
A couple of weeks ago, a man that I work with said to me " Holly, have you been working out, you look very healthful." That was one of the biggest compliments that I have received because this person is a runner, bicyclist, and does other forms of exercise on a very regular basis. I liked the fact that he could tell that I had been working out and that I looked healthy.
I thought that it would be nice to lose 10 more pounds before I started maintenance, but then I thought, the goal isn't to look skinny, the goal really is to look healthy.
I am not worried about continuing on in this journey or losing track because the tools that are on this website will be used for years to come for me.
I tell everyone I can about SP and have been successful in getting several people to join SP.
For all of those still on your weight loss journey, keep on trying. It is hard, there is no magic bullet, but in the end, there is a new beginning. Remember to live everyday to it's fullest, we don't know what tomorrow will bring so don't put life off until you hit the magic number. Do your best every day and make healthy choices, get your exercise in, move as much as you can, dance when you are ironing, doing laundry, go for a bike ride. Just remember to have joy in your life during every single journey.
We can do this!
Have a great weekend everyone!
