Port Perry people never gave up!

It's a new month----We are still here----We are determined to get healthy!-
I am aiming for the 200 mark----the ol' weight is bobbing around----working on recycled weight right now-weight I've lost 256 times before----but....the difference this time is,-------- I'm not going to give up-!!!!---Youza!!! Holy Schmoly!


I was looking at pictures last night from Port Perry, ON., where my Grandparents lived. I was struck by how our climate has changed----Look at the snow they had?

1947-----It sure looks hopeless to me------We don't get this much snow anymore-----

They didn't give up---
Remember the sore joints?---Let's Spark because we love ourselves, Sparkly people!
It's a new month----Keeping ""at"" this --will get results-----

    Living on Lake Huron, we used to get ice and snow so high that it pushed HOUSES off their foundation and into the woods!! Now it is flooding..

    Wow that is a lot of snow!! And I used to think we had a lot of snow when I was a kid but not even close!! We don't even get that much snow here anymore. Usually only a few inches if that but no one here knows how to drive in it. We have a few really bad snowstorms a few years ago we had 3 storms with 2 feet of snow each. But the worst one I remember was when my oldest daughter was 2 and my mom was babysitting at her house while both my husband and I were at work in the city. . They closed my office relatively early but hubby who was working a few blocks away would not leave because if he left he had to take vacation time for the time difference if he left early and when they closed the office. I finally told him I was leaving after hearing that they were shutting down some of the highways and he could find his own way home. A 40 minute drive turned into 3 hours and we could not get to my mom's to pick up our daughter because my mom lived on a country road that they never plowed for a few days after a snowstorm. This was a Friday and we could not get to my mom's until Sunday and then my daughter did not want to leave her Grammy and Pop. She was having way too much fun with them!! emoticon My himself certainly had a earful on that one!!!

    How could I forget Port Perry? It is next to one of my favourite towns Scugog! My brother lives in Cannington......

    GO PORT PERRY.

    As for the snow, I think you are absolutely correct saying we are getting less snow these days. I am an East Coast girl and we got some horrendous storms with huge snowfall dumps on a regular basis.

    great pictures thanks for sharing. I have pictures from when I was young in upstate NY where the snow was over our house and my dad had to shovel a tunnel out to the street. We had some amazing snow storms in the 50's and 60's. Have a great and keep pushing.
