After work yesterday, met my daughter and walked the trail - two times around the loop. It was nice to walk and talk - although it was a bit of a challenge to try to keep her pace! I told her the second loop that she may need to slow down a bit, so she let me set the pace and believe it or not we beat our first time!
Eating back on track today, drinking my water, walked for lunch instead of having that greasy cheeseburger on a patio (which sounds to die for). Also walked a mile before work - AND meeting my daughter after work. Is there such a thing as TOO much walking? It feels pretty good. Knee isn't hurting, but is achey - I think its just normal getting older aches, not sharp or strong pains like I had before.
Hoping to get the yard mowed after my walk - and some of my housework done tonight because I'd really like to see the beach tomorrow! Only problem, when the beach calls, my steps suffer! It is hard for me to walk in the soft sand, it is a little too unstable for my knee - and part of it is probably my fear - but if I hurt it on the beach there is no way I would be able to climb the stairs up the dune to get back to my car! Guess I will have to get in more treadmill time somehow!
I like it much better when the beach calls instead of cookies!
Sunday we are off to the Tiger game in Detroit. Should be a fun time. A stop for coney dogs is on the agenda - thinking I can work ONE coney dog in my calorie count for the day. It may be a challenging day - not sure how much walking I will get in while there (although last time surprised me) and of course all the food at the ballpark calls my name (especially the caramel corn) but I am going to try to stay strong.
Ooooooh - there is that word again - try. I had a trainer once tell me that try indicated that I had a reservation. That I should just say I am going to or I am not and face the consequences, because "try" set me up for failure. Sooooo -
I am NOT going to have any carmel corn at the ballpark. There. I said it! I will let you know how that turns out!
TGIF - and have an awesome weekend! Keep sparking!!! Shine on!!!
