Went for my walk today. I'm not sure if it is me, or if every day there is something new. I walk the same path through the same wetlands, but everyday it seems there is at least one thing I didn't see the day before --- or maybe I just wasn't paying attention.
Today I was greeted by the wild roses on the entrance to the wetlands.
There were lots of big fuzzy bumble bees.....
It was really hot and steamy. Felt like walking in a sauna. I'm sure I lost a bottle of water in sweat on my walk today! The cattails are filling out..... which makes me think of, oh no, ...fall.
Around the bend the queen anne's lace was beginning to bloom.
The daisies are almost gone, but now there are these little purple flowers.
and the red berries...
and the cool pink flowers (gonna have to get me a wild flower book!)
the blackeyed susans were scattered around
and these cool orange flowers...
the yellow daisies and cone flowers were almost as tall as me!!!
Funny how when they are out in nature - I look at them as flowers - but when they appear in my yard they become weeds!
I must say, seeing all the beautiful nature is a stress reliever - which is great midday break from work.
In the end, I was drenched with sweat, even with the light breeze. Good thing I changed clothes before going back to my desk! Hate to say it but it almost makes me long for these days.....
Anyhow almost have all my steps in for the day. Tonight going to wander the Blues on the Mall concert downtown. Should be fun.
Enjoy everyone! Keep sparkling!!!
