Every Woman Deserves a Chance, Right?

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

Wow. I don't know if this is so moving to me because of my current position, or if it's just amazing. I simply had to share.

I'm having all sorts of conflicted emotions - my breast reduction surgery has been approved. I'm a thrilled, scared, emotional mess. Every time I say something like "nevermind" to dh, he reminds me that's it's not about cosmetics, it's about my back. Personally, I've made it about cosmetics. I mean, it's a pretty large part of my shape, right? (No pun intended.) But the insurance has approved it because my back is pretty trashed and getting worse.

Anyway, I saw this video and just had to share it! I didn't mean to make this blog about ME because this video is about US!

What a fabulous interview, and it makes me respect him all the more. Krista, you ARE a beautiful woman, inside and out. It shines through your posts, through the loving way you guys are raising your children, and the way you treat each other. Love shines through you. That is not going to be any different come Monday night. Yes- there will be adjustments- lots of them. But I have never talked to any woman who regretted this decision. And I have no doubt that you will handle it with grace and style. emoticon

As I've said before you deserve to feel good about yourself as well as have a body not in pain and functioning normally. So what if part of the reason you want the surgery is cosmetic? You are human and humans (women especially) all want to feel we are looking our best. If you can correct back/pain issues along with looking better, go for it.

Facing any surgery is scary, but I think this is one surgery you should have for you. I know you will bounce back ( emoticon ) just fine after the surgery. Stay sane and have fun with your new wardrobe.
