81 company picnic

Friday, June 28, 2013

My son's team won their softball game. Yippee 2-0 so far. Special Olympics softball is so much fun! Got my 10,000 steps in - and iced the knee. Still a little sore on the stairs, but not bad wen straight walking.

Today is our company picnic. It starts at 3pm. This year the food is being catered by Yesterdog - which is a local coney island dog place. So, food will be dogs, chips and cookies. Adult beverages will be flowing. Not exactly the healthiest place to be hanging out for the afternoon. Nothing like a dog, chips and a beer on a hot day!

I am eating a healthy lunch and my plan is to have one dog with chili. I am going to do my best to stay away from those chips and cookies - which are a weakspot for me. One is to many and a thousand is never enough..... I know there is no such thing as a couple chips for me. So, I am going to try to not even open THAT door. If I am still hungry, I think another dog would be a better optiion for me!

I am going to stick with water to drink, possibly a diet soda and pass on the beer and other beverages.

I am part of the setup and cleanup committee - so I will be there early and leaving late. I'm hoping at least I will get a bit of a workout setting up tables, chairs, coolers, food, etc.

Just another challenge along the way, but I feel up for this one. Going to hop on the treadmill when I get home tonight to get in a couple miles.

I hope the force is with me today as I enter the valley of temptations!

OMG! You just cracked me up with the chips comment!! I love it when people say... "well you can eat chips (or cookies, or ice cream...), but just eat a little!" YA RIGHT!! I hope you were successful at your picnic! Way to go!

Cheering you on from SP! Great plan. You might want to consider bringing some fruit ( if that's a good option for you) with you to the picnic. Have fun!

Good luck with the company picnic, those things are always kind of tough--but you can do it and you have a good plan in place! And I totally think putting up and tearing down the stuff counts as exercise, lol!
