66 what a day

Sunday, June 09, 2013

Got up at 6am and plopped myself on the treadmill. Walked 20 minutes then showered and got my son going. Off to see the Detroit Tigers. It was a family outing, my daughter & son-in-law and his mom and the 3 granddaughters. It was the grandkids first Tiger game.

Had good intentions - brought water, vitamin water zero and fruit. Made it through breakfast, then at the ball park, had some of that fresh carmel corn (uhoh, it's starting to unravel) and then some of the granddaughter's cotton candy and some full sugar Mountain Dew, topped off by some pizza (more that I should have had). Ugh. Healthy eating disaster. Even did research and figure out the best calorie food choice was the hot dog - but figured if I was gonna eat bad, I was gonna eat REALLY bad. Why do I think like that?

Positive notes - I got 16736 steps on the fitbit (may hit 17000 before I go to bed) and 57 flights of stairs. Did LOTS of walking - not enough to put a dent in the calories I ate, but better than I thought.

The girls had a great time, prior to the game the players were on the field and fans could go down and meet them. My son, the biggest Tiger fan in the state, met some of his favorite players. Each one took the time to have some conversation with him and pose for photos. While they may not be perfect roll models, they certainly were top notch with their fans today!

Now home to settle back into the routine and back to work tomorrow. Putting the awful eating behind me and moving on.... Hopefully by the 24th when I weigh in, it will be but a blip on the graph. Not getting stuck in that quick sand, or the negative thinking that goes along with it. Moving on.

Goodnight all!

It sounds like you had a great time. I went to see a game at Ford Field once and passed Tigers' stadium. Looks like a great ball park. You are right about the food at ballparks, it just calls your name. As long as you get back on track today, all should be well.

1 bad eating day is just a blip on the radar. Sounds like a great family outing and you got a lot of steps and stairs in!

And that's exactly what you need to do. We're all going to have "those days". Think, though, it could have been so much worse if you didn't make the other HEALTHY choices you've made this week! Sounds like a fun day! We were actually down there too, today - at the DIA. ;-)

So proud of you and your thinking. Sometimes we really mess up royally. Even when we know better - even when we have the best of intentions - even when we plan ahead. Its done - its over - and you know what you need to do.

It can be very easy got us to beat ourselves up - feel bad - and them say "why bother." Its east to give up - and I'm sooooo glad you're back on track - not gonna let it get you down.

Way to go - being real - being realistic.
