Relocated and heavier than before

Friday, June 07, 2013

The last couple months have been insanely crazy... My husband decided to apply for a job in St Louis and accepted the company's offer. Within that time, we were working to get rid of stuff we didn't need or no longer wanted in case he got the job and we would sell our house. Lots of stress already from that, then the movers had to show up just over a week earlier than we wanted because of the Memorial Day holiday. So we lived out of suitcases and on takeout/dining out for two weeks.

To add to all the stress, first it was going to be possible to transfer my job to a work from home position. Great! Then it wasn't, and I was faced with the prospect of job hunting. Then it was again, then it wasn't again. Then came the light at the end of the over stressed tunnel. A VP from another group offered me a position working for him on the same system I was working in under Procurement that I love. I of course said yes! I still have no idea what the job will be once I finish the documentation stuff, but it was one stress off my shoulders.

Now there is the house stress... Our house in Iowa hit the market on Tuesday. We priced it aggressively so we are hopeful it will sell quickly! We are currently living at an extended stay hotel, but have our eye on one particular house that we both love. I will be really disappointed if we miss out on it, but bridge loans just don't exist anymore!

With all of this going on, I have managed to gain ten pounds from my previous weigh-in. I am an emotional eater as well as a stress eater, so I am not completely surprised, but it is still rather depressing. I am hoping to slowly start getting back on track. I have told my husband I need his help and support too. I cannot do this alone. I have proven that...
