Why stop things we like?

I like body pump.... and how I feel after. I feel accomplished and strong.... plus I feel pretty cool actually using a weighted bar.

Soooo..... why did I ever stop? I'm not sure. I think when it came down to dedicating 45 minutes to it.... I just found something else to do. Excuses and laziness.

I've come to realize how important strength training is... especially for women. You can argue with me all day that body pump isn't the perfect strength training program but it is a really good place to start. It's fun and uses light weights.... better than no strength training at all! AND I own the Les Mills at home version.

I just can't get over why I ever stopped!

Anyway... anyone that follows my blogs know I am in the middle of doing a 21 day challenge. I'm currently on day 10.... tomorrow will be 11. I've been doing a HIIT workout everyday.... and although I "like it" I don't feel like I'm really fit enough to be doing the regular workouts. The beginner workout set was fine but they asked me to do some really freakish things today without any real alternatives. I gave it my best and made up my own. I'm going to continue doing HIIT but am going to do body pump 3 days a week instead on those days. My 21 day challenge originally was to do 21 days of planned exercise, so I guess this falls into that. I'll do HIIT 3 days (include a lite day in there during my rest day) and body pump 3 days a week and one rest day. Which pretty much means I'll have 1 day off until my 21 day cycle is over. I'll re-evaluate in another 10 days if this is the program I want to follow.

So, here's what the schedules looking like:

Thursday - HIIT (day 11)
Friday - HIIT (Day 12)
Saturday - Body pump, may leave town (Day 13)
Sunday - HIIT (Day 14) & Schedule rest of the week.

It has felt good getting going and exercising again. I just have to keep doing it, especially when I don't feel like it!

    body pump is a great class and i think it's just that extra u need. either way...whatever or however you decide to workout...u r getting it done and looking great! keep it up!

    I don't care what you say, but you're much STRONGER than you give yourself credit for. Keep at it...nothing's PERFECT, but if you can get'er done and you like the results try to stick at it...easier said than done I know, but AIN'T NOTHIN' TO IT BUT TO DO IT!!!
