Summer Time

Summer is off to a great start. I'm surprised at the number because I've had a very difficult time managing my calorie intake. I'm slowly working on it and sticking in there, just pushing forward.

It's the start of a new week and there are a lot of changes to come. I wanted to start C25K today but I'm a little hesitant. I start running injure my hips and then I have to stop. Then I start turbo jam which I loved, I was in week 10 of a 20 week challenge and then I injure my shoulders. I may just start with something simple like the elliptical and work on my endurance for now. I've been out of commission for 8 weeks or so now. So I'm just going to need to work my way up and try and avoid an injury this time around. Maybe I'm just clumsy.

    I am injured right now and can't work out. I used to do Zow videos interval circuits... You can modify the moves. Everything on her site is all about form and just doing the best.

    Sorry to hear about you injuring your shoulders. I have a knee issue that causes me not to be able to do strenuous exercise so I know how you feel. Hope you get better soon!

    My pre-C25k plan has been easier intervals on the treadmill and building endurance on the recumbent bike. For the treadmill I do a cycle of 4 minutes walking and 1 minute jogging. I repeat that 6 times for a 30 minute workout, then do a 15 minute walk at the end to cool down. On the bike I do an "Endurance" program that's built into the bike. It has resistance intervals. Between doing those two for a few weeks, I think I'm ready to start C25k this coming weekend.

    Injuries set me back, too. Look around in youtube.com and do some Leslie Sansone videos. Once you get the very simple steps down, do them to your preferred music.

    Somehow I rehabilitated my shoulder doing this, and now I'm in a kettlebell challenge!

    Good luck and just take it slow. One day at a time. I have to remind myself all the time to slow down. I start and want to push myself and then either hurt myself or burn out.
