The A to Z fitness approach

Back in 2009 when I first started on this life style change, I didn't know what I liked to do. I knew that I hated exercise because it hurt and it was uncomfortable. I didn't like eating healthy because I didn't like eating veggies and I thought it meant I couldn't eat what I loved any more. I got to the point I loved eating healthy and it didn't mean I had to give up pizza.. just have less of it and not as often and I slowly started to like exercising and how it made me feel. I tried different exercises

One day in 2010, we had a family gathering at my sister's place (my nephew had been baptised) and I was talking with two of my favorite cousins. We were talking about exercising (both of them were inspirations to me) and they were telling me how I was now an inspiration to them. One of them asked me what new exercises I had tried. Kevin started to laugh and joked how I was hitting every letter of the alphabet. It sort of became a joke with us.. though the thought has been rolling around in my head. Heck I even have it under my Program on my spark page as an inside joke with my cousins. But lately, I've been seriously thinking about doing that. It is plausible and it will keep me from getting bored. And, who knows, maybe I'll find another love like dragon boating!

So far my list looks like this:

A -
B - Biking
C - Canoeing, cycling
D - Dragon boating!!!! , dancing
E -
F -
G - golfing (that is a blog all in itself!)
H - Hiking ( I want to do more of this)
I -
J -
K - kayaking
L -
M -
N -
O -
P - Pool running
Q -
R - running (if what I do is qualified as running!),
S - swimming, step aerobics
T -
U -
V -
W - walking, water aerobics
X -
Y - yoga
Z - Zumba

As you can see, I've got a ways to go but I'm looking forward to the challenge. Some of the letters are going to be hard.. Q and X come to mind, but I'm ready for the challenge. Greg is going to be helping me as well. He said he'd show me archery (the letter A! WOOT!) and maybe take me mountain climbing ( M!!) since we live so close to the Rockies. If you can think of any interesting exercises that cover letters I haven't done, please let me know. I may get a chance to try them. I'm looking into taking Tai Chi and line dancing classes to test things out! LOL

I want to be the alphabet queen of work outs! It's a new approach to my weight loss and it keeps my cousins close to me even if they live on the other side of this vast country!

    I was also thinking Qi Gong for Q. Maybe X-Fit for X. What a wonderful way to mix things up and keep things interesting! Good job!!

    and q could be qi gong (i think that is how it is spelled)
