A day off at the old train depot.
Monday, May 20, 2013
I had to take today off since my PTO bank is at its upper limits so since my husband is also done with teaching for the summer, we thought we would go to the old train station where there is a great Greek restaurant and have lunch. We had a healthy lunch together and then decided to walk thru the rest of the building. When we got to the end of the concourse, there were doors to go outside so we thought we would go out and walk around a little and see where the trains use to depart.
Little did we know that we could not get back in the doors we went out. You would think they might mention that with a sign since it is all fenced in and you cant really get out of the area.
We eventually found a stairwell that took us to a underground garage and the doors alarmed when we went thru, but that was ok since we had to find our way out. It was quite the adventure. And we were laughing about it the entire way.
Here are a few pictures of the building and some of the sights from the window overlooking the Mississippi river.

this was made of little light bright bulbs. Very pretty and it says FOREVER SAINT PAUL
It was a great day off, it may rain again soon but the morning was full of sun and we walk/ ran around the lake twice this morning.
Have a great and healthy week!
