I am a Breast Cancer Survivor!

I first had cancer eight years ago, (2005) and it reappeared last summer. It was found both times on my regular mammogram. Get your mammograms!!! Hang onto to hope and get treatment if something is found to be "positive."
I have gone up and down with my weight for the past 45 years. I have tried exercising and dieting with success only to gain the weight back and more. I taught aqua aerobics for years and swimming lessons and I love the water. I am anxious for summer every year to be outside in the pool and to enjoy boating. We live on a lake. I want to be able to canoe with my grandchildren and to be able to exercise in the pool again. Since I am still recuperating from a bilateral mastectomy and have other medical issues it is slow going. I hope to get back into tai chi and to get my knees to where they allow me to walk without pain. I can't exercise right now. Doctors' orders! I have cellulitis in my right suture line and what is left of my breast on that side. I got a PIC line in three days ago and have had two days of IV antibiotics through the PIC line. I had an allergic reaction to one of the medications and had to take another drug to counteract the itching and the redness from my face, neck, shoulders, chest and back. Then that medication kept me up all night. I added to my list of many medication allergies. I do what I can when I can and am slowly making a lifestyle change. My mind is ready and hopefully in a few more weeks my body will allow me to work more real exercise into my days. I'm hoping to start the Spark Solution on Monday with the Spark Solution Spark Team. I'm hoping my book arrives by then so I can get the groceries I need and look at all the recipes for the challenge. I hope this is a quick start jolt to begin my weight loss. HEALING AND GETTING HEALTHY AGAIN TAKES TIME. There are set backs and challenges. I'm doing what I can to be healthy and in better fitness than I have been for a long time.
