It is hard to believe that I haven't blogged for two weeks. So much has happened.
First, my husband and I went on a mini-vacation (3 days) up to Estes Park, CO. We stayed at Valhalla where we spent our honeymoon. Friday morning we went into Rocky Mountain National Park (it was a free day). We were going to hike around Bear Lake, but there was too much snow. So we just drove around and enjoyed God's handiwork!
After lunch, we hiked around Lake Estes - 3.5 miles. It was a gorgeous day.
At the end of the walk we saw some elk...
That evening we spent some time in the hot tub.
Sat we walked around Estes Park shops - I was able to pick up some Christmas presents. We also went the Estes Park Museum. We walked about 5 miles. Sun, we headed home. It was a great weekend!
When I got home I plunged into making the quilts for the African girls home - I thought I had the deadline of Fri May, 3, then it was changed to Tues, May 7. Then yesterday my sister called and said that the lady that was taking the quilts to Africa cancelled her trip because her mom wasn't doing well. She will take them in the Fall. I had already finished two and all I need to do on the third is finish the binding. My sister is sending down one quilt top she did so I can quilt it. I am glad I don't have the pressure to have it finished by this Friday. (I will post pictures of them when I am totally done).
Another thing that occurred the last couple of weeks -- I started 3 new daycare children. One is a 3 month old baby and the other two are a 4 yr old brother/ 1st grade sister. They come on the early side -- 7:00/7:15am. This makes my day 12 hours long as the last daycare kids leave @6:30-6:45pm. These two will be moving end of May, so I will only have a month of long days.
This makes it hard for me to do exercise. So, now I am getting up earlier so I can get at least 20 min on the treadmill or do a 1 mile walk down into the canyon.
Wed (May 1) I had a personal session with my trainer. We did a weigh-in - I had a four pound gain -- mainly from eating out every meal during our vacation. -- Glad to say I have lost 3 of that this week. My goal is to lose the last pound by Sat. Another thing he did was a fat%. Even though I have been on a plateau this last month - I did lose .4% of fat!! Yeah for NSV'S!
Last Sat. was very full. First thing I went to my group training session at the gym. We did upper body. Then when I got home, it was time for the SP Colorado Christian Women Team Get-Together. I enjoyed a time of fellowship and hike with Susie and Castle. We hiked the Mitchell Canyon Creek Trail (behind my house) into the Gateway Plaza Open Space Trail, then back to my house for a nice potluck lunch. The hike was @4 miles. I had done this Friday night also to check out the trail since we had had snow earlier in the week.
Then Sat afternoon, my husband and I went to my son's to celebrate Mother's Day with the family. (All my married kids will have Mother's Day with their in-laws this year). We had so much fun together -- talked, ate and played Boggle. Then afterwards one daughter and her husband came to our house to watch two episodes of DrWho. We didn't get to bed until 11.
So Sunday I was tired and took a nap after church.
That pretty much sums up the last two weeks. I now will sit down and plan out my daily goals for the month of May and prepare for the 5% Challenge to start on Sat! I am going to strive to make my 5% goal this time!!!! Go Clovers!
