c25k - week 6 day 2

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

Well, it is Wednesday, so that means another episode of C25K.

We have been having big thunderstorms recently. I really thought this would end up being an inside run. But it looked like maybe it wouldn't rain for 30+ minutes, and I could run outside. I don't really know why this is, but something about running inside -- I feel like it is cheating or something. So I was happy to get to run outside, and I didn't even get rained on.

Stats:
35:24 minutes
2.7 miles
4.6 avg mph
5152 fitbit steps

The two 10 minute segments did seem kinda tough, although I am still looking forward to the 22 minute challenge on Friday. I didn't need to use the inhaler.

I am starting to think about how I want to do my real 5k, which comes up on May 4. But having never done one, I don't really have any ideas. I train using the podcast intervals, but I think maybe I get special music for the 5K. But I question whether I need/want something to break things down for me (every 5 minutes or something). And can I pick music that I like, or do I need stuff with a pushing beat? Hmmm.

Can you check out the route ahead of time and come up with a strategy? Then you can decide when to walk and when to run. Have fun!

We're having thunderstorms, too. We must be in the same area. I'm in Illinois. How about you?

I would love to run outside in the sunshine but I have to run inside because of allergies at this time of year.

It sounds like you are doing great.
