To help make a break and stop myself from overeating, I sometimes take pictures of my food. I have an iPhone now so it makes it super easy.
Last year, when I toyed with this practice, I used a camera, downloaded the pics and wrote pretty picture blogs about my wonderful food!
It helped to slow me down, allowed me to "see" my food and appreciate it on many different levels.

Wow! That was FOUR PAGES of blogs ago! Holy crow. Where has the time gone?
About three pages of blogs ago, somewhere in the middle of December, I kinda fell off a cliff, into the food cesspool that is the holidays....and the 10 lb weight gain that I'm just recovering from...but that is another story!!
I have not needed the picture based assistance in quite a while as I'm "in the zone" with this whole 100 days until summer thing. Plod, plod, plod....Note: I was Sparked to do this by someone else on one of my random hopscotch days. So thank you who ever you are/were....
However, this morning, I felt compelled to stop and take a picture of my breakfast. I made it after I returned from the gym. Did not know why at the time....but now I do!
HAWTGRANNY2014 posted a blog asking for support and so I thought I would dredge up the whole picture thing. Swing by her page and give her a "Howdie Doodie" if you have have the chance!
I was Sparked to do my first photo blog by the many, many people on Spark do food picture blogs for various reasons. If you have never done one, try it!
This morning there was a rather random hodge podge of things in the fridge. I picked out these items:
4 egg whites
1 cup of my bean salad
1 tbsp of Braggs Nutritional Yeast
2 oz of store bought Seaweed Salad

Here is the finished product:
Pretty right? 282 calories, 35 carbs, 4 fat and 27 grams protein.
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the best) this is an 11 to me right now at this point in my life. Could NOT have said that when I was in the midst of alternately eating healthy, and then binging on junk food. So if this grosses you out, it's OK!!
Kind of gives me pause too!
But.... if you are struggling, try slowing down by taking a pretty picture of your food! Post it.

Do it for YOU.
