Week 5 Day 2

Today was
(5 minute warm-up walk)
8 minute run
5 minute walk
8 minute run
(5 minute cool down walk)

It is a nice day here, although the potential for thunderstorms. 78 degrees. From a running perspective, I hope that it does not get any warmer, I was HOT HOT HOT running today. A bit windy too, but that doesn't really bother me too much. At least I had a short sleeve shirt, pretty soon I will need shorts!

8 minutes is a bit long, but I made it through both segments. Had to pep talk myself for the last minute or so. Still questioning the 20 minutes on Friday, but I will have faith that I can do it.

Nice to report that the asthma has not been acting up on my last few runs. I wonder if there is any research in this area (running regimen to improve asthma).

Slightly fun -- while I was out walking/running, I noticed two other people (men) from my office have also now started walking (do I get credit for that?). I walked with one of them a bit (M), but found that I walk a bit faster. What was funny is (M) told me he walked with (P) a bit, but found that he walks a bit faster.

    I admire anyone who can stick to and enjoy running. I have to have perfect, and I mean perfect, weather to even go out and walk. Since I live in upstate NY, those perfect days are few and far between!

    You're doing great! I found some nice loose fit mesh shorts yesterday that are not too short.
