Another one bites the dust

At least it's a steady loss. 1 lb down.

I need to find some sort of work/life balance. I can't seem to get up early enough to make it to the gym, shower, and then make it to work, then there are so many nights that I stay late at the office and don't have the energy to do it afterwards. Also, I'm hungry by the time I get off of work, so I want to eat.

Also, this last week has been rough for me. A corporate restructure worked against me. There are now contractors being hired into my role, but with a higher title and pay. I'm a bit bitter and unhappy about it. I try not to think about it, but I also got rejected for a promotion into the Sr. version of this new title. I'm feeling like I'm not being compensated for work that everyone commends me for. Verbal praise is great, but it only goes so far. It doesn't overshadow the fact I was passed over for a title I already play the role of while others are being hired freshly into it.

So sorry to hear about the frustrations at work. I've found myself lamenting things about my job lately as well, but I still love what I do so that's the upside. It's hard when work interferes with a healthy lifestyle. This week I've had to go to functions at work three out of the five weeknights - which makes me feel guilty about leaving the poor little dog home alone (the dog sitter was unavailable all week as well), but I'm doing my best to just focus on moving forward.

As far as moving forward - you're doing great! One pound at a time is slow but steady - I'd take it for sure!

Give yourself a few minutes at least to celebrate your successes, because you've got plenty of them. Hang in there, I'd like to think that in the end it all comes out in the wash career-wise.

    Take care friend!
