This week's word for week 2 Made to Crave is Determination. Just few notes I took as I watched the video....

"Fixing our want-to provides the foundation that enables us to make lasting changes."

KEY QUESTION: "What temporary pleasure have I wanted so much that I gave up lasting victory?"
Are some of my favorite snacks/foods worth it in the long run?

Assignment for the week: Determination in advance what you will eat.
This has been one weakness of mine...planning meals. I usually go with what I feel like. So I am going to try real hard each day to plan the meals for the day and maybe even plan for a week.

This afternoon I got a little frustrated with the wedding quilt. I had started quilting on the frame, but was having difficulty doing some portions. Mainly because some of the blocks are 3D pinwheels and it made it so the fabric wasn't taunt enough. So I took it off to do with my regular machine. I did a little bit. Then I realized I would have to take most of the quilting stitching out. So, for about 3 hours I took out quilting stitches. Basically starting over. Aagghh!

I had my last private session with my trainer tonight. He really pushed me. I was drenched in sweat by the time I was done. I have to decide whether I want to continue the privates or just do the group sessions. He said he is available whenever I need help.

Daily Goals:
1) Blog -- emoticon
2) Exercise at least 50 minutes. emoticon 134 min
3) Eat at least 5 freggies a day emoticon 2 servings
4) Instead of eating something unhealthy today, I will... watch Made to Crave week 2 video.

I slipped up this week because I didn't have my meals planned in advance. This is a big lesson learned to track in advance so I can avoid the pitfalls that will surely be there when I'm tired and stressed. Thanks for confirming for me I need to stick with what works.

Meal planning is vital for me! Decisions made when I get home from work & am tired & hungry are rarely very healthy! Even after several years of this Lifesytle, I don't crave veggies. Or healthy sized portions. (wish i could say those were natural now ... But even if not natural, they have become my "norm". And that's pretty good!) Planning ahead allows me to make the decisions when I am strong, determined, and focused. I used to log in my day's foods at the beginning of the day. I hated to go back and change them, so it helped me stick with the plan.

Not sure what is best for you about trainer or group. I stuck with the trainer for quite a while because he challenged me more than I did on my own. But eventually, I got better at knowing what to do, how hard to push.

God Bless You, my friend, as you seek to crave only Him!

Sounds like you really needed that good workout after a frustrating day of detail work!

At the weekends, I like to make a menu for the week ahead to help keep a focus on it. As the shopping is done online and delivered it also stops me from buying those "nice" items that like to jump into the trolly!!
Try a few of the group sessions to see if you find one you enjoy - perhaps keep putting the money by that you would have spent on the trainer to fund a little treat at some point.

I have found that if I plan my meals, I have a lot more success!

Private lessons here are so expensive. As much as I would like to do them I can't justify spending that much money - so I take many of the free classes they offer. It helps as I meet with others and they provide me cheering on to my goals, BUT I suspect if I had a private trainer he/she would push me more. Give and take. You can do this whatever you decide.

I struggle with meal planning to. It really helps when I do, but for some reason I have a hard time sticking to that habit. When I do it makes grocery shopping so much easier because I'm buying exactly what I need and don't have to make special runs to the store to get items I need.

I like your comments about thinking of the long term victory instead of a short term "want." I can use those words of wisdom!!

Have a great day! Thanks for leading our team and encouraging all of us!
