Easter Confessions

Monday, April 01, 2013

Easter weekend was wonderful. Saturday we rode our bikes for 31 miles. Then dyed eggs with my friend and her son.

It was a bit disappointing without my parents here (they usually are), but hubby and I had a quiet Easter day and dinner just for us. I did get to try lamb chops for dinner (dinner was yummy).

Treat wise, I couldn't resist just a little bit of Easter goodies. There was a beautiful dark chocolate peanut butter egg made by the local chocolatier at the store. I got just that one egg, in the small size. We nibbled on it all day, and it is gone. That was the only candy I bought.

Oh, I also made a very rich Easter braid bread, that had a lot of eggs and butter in it (like Challah). it was pretty and a nice treat, but probably a bit on the heavy side of the scale.

Now the candy is gone. There are hard-boiled eggs left, but I consider those to actually be healthy.

Now I know I was really not that good last week. I had several high calorie/fat/salt meals and treats. I did get a good amount of exercise (running and biking, as well as walking). And I have finally managed to break a plateau recently, which to me means I bumped my metabolism up a notch with the change in exercise.

I was quite surprised to see the scale indicate 4 pounds lost! I expect that I will gain some of it back next week, but even still, if I keep most of it off, that is a great leap! I did note that by my history and my personal schedule (girls, you understand), that this was the week I show a 'loss', and then I will have a few small losses or small gains (just the way it works for me).

Anyway, I'm celebrating my victory today. Increased my dedication and motivation to keep that 4 lbs off, and keep heading toward my goal.
