The first week in January every new fad diet is advertised on TV, because everyone is focused on weight lossas their New Year's Resolution. On a morning news show I watched a presentation on "The 8 Hour Diet." The biggest "rule" is you can only eat in an 8-hour window (9-5, 11-7, etc.). There are super foods you should eat but there is no rule that you have to. At first I thought there is no way I could do that, I'm up for too many hours, and the rules have always been several small meals throughout the day. I dismissed the idea for a couple months.
About a month ago I talked to a friend at the gym who has a friend who lost a bunch of weight on the 8 Hour Diet. I gave it another thought. I even bought the Kindle book. I figured since I've tried about every fad out there, what would it hurt. I started with 10 - 6, but that made dinner difficult and I often ended up going over my 8 hours. I moved to 11 - 7 but I have lunch at 12. Eventually I went to 12-8 and it is really working. I have lost 7 lbs! That might not be much, but look how long I've been on this journey. I stick to the 8 hour plan most weekdays, and on weekends whenever possible. There are times I eat breakfast (before 12) and those days are just not diet days. I went 3 consecutive days without following it. I gained 3 lbs., but lost them the first day I got back on track.
I'm often afraid that I will fall off the track and lose focus, but I don't think that will happen with this diet because it is so easy to do. Go ahead give it a try!
