Good morning. Hope everyone is doing well today?!! Have a SPARKIE day!!!
Today's Photo word: Shamrock
This is my oldest cub at 6 years old. He made this in CCD class, in March (of course). I figured it fit pretty good for today's word.
BUT, as I came here to post that picture, I thought of a perfect "Shamrock" picture to post! I hate posting pictures that aren't mine, but I'm gonna do this one and then explain...
Last year when my sister came to visit us all from South Korea she told me I had to try McDonald's Shamrock Shake! We don't go to Micky D's, so I didn't know about them. I love Mint, so it became something I liked!
This year came and I forgot about them, until the other day! My cubs had the day off from school (snow day) and they were well behaved and very helpful, so to thank them, I thought I'd treat them. I ran to do an errand, but on my way home stopped to pick up 3 shamrock shakes. Did I say how yummy they are!?!!
Last year when my sister introduced it (the shake) to me, I wanted it after the whole "St. Patrick's Day" celebration was done. Sadden because they weren't selling them anymore, I turned to our favorite place... the internet! I found this recipe and planned to make it. But soon the cravings stopped and I never made them. Planned to make them this year, still haven't... hee hee. I promised my cubs I'd get the ingredients for it all this weekend and we'll make them. Can't wait!
Did you think I'd talk about this all and NOT share the recipe?!!? Come on, I'm NOT like that... hee hee. Here is the "Copy-Cat" recipe of the McDonald's Shamrock shake...
McDonald's Shamrock Shake Copycat Recipe
(makes 1 giant shake, or 2 generously sized shakes)
3 cups good quality vanilla ice cream
1 3/4 cups 1% milk
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
Green food coloring, if desired
Blend all ingredients in a blender until completely thick and smooth. Pour into glasses and serve!
