What a difference 30 lbs makes!

Saturday, March 09, 2013

I was out walking around yesterday at the mall and I happened to go by a mirror and looked up and could see the difference from 8 months ago.
It is interesting because I don't know about the rest of you, but when I look in the mirror, I still see the flaws and the things that I still need to work on.
I was talking to another person at work and I told her she may not want to lose much more weight because she is going to look to thin, and she said, Holly, I weigh the same as you. She is about the same height, 5'7, and I am about 5'8 and it is funny because I can see she has lost weight, but I can't see it in me.
So I decided maybe if I put the beginning pic and the now pic side by side, I may be able to see it too.
I decided I should try to stop focusing on how much I still need to lose, but on what I have accomplished, how I did it and how I will continue to do it!
Keep on fighting for yourself to get healthy everyone, we are so worth it.
Have a great Saturday and keep on Sparking!

It's definitely a hard thing to see the changes in yourself.

    Great job! :)

It can be difficult to see the change. Particularly when you see yourself every day.

    Make it a great day!

You look great! You've made a lot of progress! Congrats! Hope you had a good weekend! I used my Wii fit step in front of the TV tonight to finish out my steps for the day. I should do that more often! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the encouragement! Spark on! emoticon emoticon

It has made a big difference indeed! You look great! I need to do that side by side pic!! Since I bought my new clothes (2 sizes smaller-got tired of the baggy ones), I had a pic taken and my jaw dropped. I couldn't believe it! I am like you- I still see the flaws, etc. but I had to do a double take! Like you said, We do need to stop focusing on how much we still need to do and only on how far we have come! Yes, we need to keep fighting for ourselves-we ARE worth it!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

I know exactly what you are saying! I see my same fat self in the mirror, but when I look at the before photos, I am amazed at how far I've come. I think we need to put a before photo near our mirror, so that we can nip those negative thoughts in the bud and appreciate ourselves as we are!
By the way Holly, you look terrific! emoticon emoticon

Great job Holly! You look fantastic! I'm so glad you had this realization. Sometimes we can get so focused on our goal, we forget how far we've come. emoticon

emoticon Holly - you look Marvelous Darling - just like a Movie Star !! What a great accomplishment - you have worked hard and it shows! emoticon

I agree with you that we are always looking to improve ourselves , instead of seeing what we have already accomplished. When I start to feel down , I pack a suitcase with 100 pounds and carry that around to remind myself of how heavy I used to be , proves to be yet another good workout for the arms !! Hugs Karen - I am so Happy for you !! emoticon emoticon

Wonderful transformation. You are doing a great job. I think some of us find it hard to see what we have accomplished vs what still needs to be done (in our minds). We need to keep reminding ourselves where we were last year at this time. Keep up with the positive attitude. Have a great Saturday. emoticon
