Day 23: Doing what I can to stay on top!

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

This week is less butt kicking and more butt...nudging?
It's snowing non-stop in Chicago and it's that good ol' TOM.
Yesterday I didn't make it to the gym and I had intentions of walking on the treadmill all day. But I sat around instead.
Then we ordered Thai food for dinner and I probably ate a bit too much. Not crazy, but more than I needed to eat.
It was around 9pm when Ken convinced me to get on the treadmill and walk "just for an hour".
So I did. I read some stuff for school and watched part of a stand up comedy special. After an hour I was at 7000 steps for the day. So I thought "Well, I can do another 30 minutes and get my 10000"
And I did!
Sure it was last minute but I got in 11000 steps, so I feel good about it.
Today I FINALLY went to the museum, even if it meant not getting a good night's sleep. (Sleep schedule is still screwed up)
But I did lots of walking, ate pretty good and tracked all my food.
The annoying part of the museum is you are not allowed to carry a water bottle around with you. So I was constantly trying to get drinks form water fountains all day. Bleh.
Then I walked to Whole Foods to stock up on protein powders.

I do not like to eat too much process soy so I really like the all-vegetable protein powders by Vega and Amazing Meal. They have single serving packets that you can but for like 3.00 and it usually makes two smoothies the way I use them . I recommend the vanilla chai, the chocolate and the plain.

I came home and I'm just having a bit of a lie down before I start my homework. I would like to finish most of it today and tomorrow as I have a big weekend coming up.

We leave for California on Sunday and I'm so excited. Not only will the weather be great but I'll get to see my friends and be active outside. I'm really glad that I've been working out again for the last month because my stamina is up and I'll be able to do some hiking and jogging while I'm there, plus a ton of walking.

Ok, fake nap-time is over. Time to boost the heater and do some math!
