C25K - Sorta

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

I've wanted to try C25K for a while. After a few weeks of marching in place (a la Leslie Sansone videos), I figured I could throw in some running in place. I found the following podcast so I could play it on my computer while trying: http://www.4shared.com/mp3/49N

So, running in place is pretty tough for me. If you aren't familiar with the C25K concept, during Week 1 you alternate running for 60 seconds with walking for 90 seconds. I found out I could not do all the running segments. I am going to have to do alternate running segments, and walk the others. And, the running in place part sucks. So I ended up doing itty-bitty laps from my family room, through the kitchen, into the dining room, past the entry, back into the family room. Again and again and again. That's a lot of little laps, but at least I have the room to do it. Perhaps next week I will be up to running every 2 of 3 of the running segments. Little steps!

I really like how this lady produced her podcast, especially since she simply did it as an amateur trying to shape up, not a professional. emoticon I don't know if the music is quite fast enough, but I'm sweating! And it is music I like, which is a plus. I'm looking forward to advancing to her other podcasts.

Anyway, here's to trying! I'm feeling good, even if I didn't do it perfectly. emoticon

    This was a helpful post!
I've recently started jogging on my mini trampoline about 30 minutes a day and I love it! After doing a little research, I'm convinced that it will help me become a regular walker/jogger someday.

Congratulations!! You are taking the first steps and that's what it is all about!! A little and a time and we will all get there. I just re-joined in January and made my first attempt to do a low-impact aerobic video from the site yesterday. LOL!! I was very uncoordinated but the point is I did and felt better afterward!! Off we go!! Good luck emoticon
