Feeling good.

Friday, January 25, 2013

I feel so much better when I eat right and exercise, so why do I stop? emoticon Doesn't make sense, does it?

Anyway, I'm feeling pretty good this morning. Looking forward to another day of eating right and taking a walk.

Going to see 'Mama' for my date night tonight. I wanted to see it last weekend but we also wanted to see 'The Last Stand' (loved it) and 'Gangster Squad' (loved it). Oh yeah, gotta see Hansel and Gretel in IMAX 3D. I can't wait! I didn't have any popcorn last weekend. Tonight I might treat myself. emoticon Kids size, no butter.

Next week is definitely going to be a challenge. Hubby decided to take the week off. UGH! emoticon We've been dating since 7th grade and when we were in high school, dates consisted of movies (matinee) and dinner (McDonald's). Over the years, we still continue our weekly date night. But something's gotta give. You know my middle son, the one with no filter. He said, "If you guys keep it up, we're going to have to open the second door (we have double entry doors) to get you in and out of the house!"

This morning I'm having a protein shake with frozen bananas.

Have a great day.
Hattie

Keeping up with date night is an important tradition! But it can be adapted a bit to include healthier elements. Try a restaurant that doesn't focus on fried food, and go for a walk after the movie!

Leave it to a kid to call it as they see it! What a funny kid, by the way.

You and your husband are so good about date night. We had really let dates fall by the wayside, so I have reinstituted them and we have gone on 3 dates in January, which is really good for us, and we have had a lot of fun. No McDonald's though - he is not getting off that easy. I am low maintenance but a girl has to have a standard, right? emoticon

I am also doing a bit of a movie "club" with my sister and my best friend. On Sunday nights, we go to a movie that has been nominated for Academy awards. Last Sunday was "Silver Linings Playbook" (excellent!), this weekend is "Les Miserables".

Have a great weekend, Hattie. I hear you on the "this feels so good, why do I ever fall back into bad habits?" Self-sabotage and rebellion, in my opinion, though why I allow these, I don't really know. emoticon

No matter the marketing, I gotta think that you can find fun and healthier choices at places other than McDonald's.

    Enjoy your evening out!
