The Inner Voice!!

Sunday, January 20, 2013

This is our Mall----It was 3 stories high, with parking area on the roof--
It collapsed last June---
2 people were killed---Amazing there weren't more people killed!-
So, now it is finally coming down----

The new one is going to go up beside it-----but--we live on the Precambrian Sheild in Northern Ontario---
That means, lotza rock, to blast away-- -
They say, the new Mall will be up and running by next Christmas---
The Library was in the Mall----We now have no library----
People used to see each other as we shopped , in the Mall---We don't have that anymore---We have no ""focus"" area , in the town now---

There is a lot of anger over that Mall collapsing--and--a great deal of questions----to the Mall owner who let it get in such a state of dissrepair----and to the city---Why was this building not checked , for safety, by a city official??
An inquiery begins in March , which will , hopefully , give us all some answers.

This has taught me, to listen to your inner voice--ALWAYS---to that little voice inside you, who used to say, "'Don't park on the Mall roof""----I stopped doing that a year before it collapsed---
But I ran in and out of that mall, daily, even tho, that voice was shouting inside of me, telling me, it wasn't safe---I trusted the city to keep me safe----even tho I knew better!!!

--kinda like that voice , that tells me now to not overeat--that it's bad for me----
So-------It's Sunday-----and we have sunshine-----(no mall--LOL)----but--We do Spark---LOL---

    Loved it and well said.
It is great to follow our own intuition.
    No sheep syndrome here.
I am afraid I just go for it when I think the city is not looking out for something. This is our city and our taxes make it run, so I just try to keep up with things.

We have been here almost 50 years now so it is most definitely HOME.

Keep the home fires burning bright. HUGS Pat in Maine.

    Great comparison, well said!

As soon as you told this story, I knew in an instant where you are from. I almost died twice in your city, as a child....I used to live there for a few years.

Small world....have you lived there your whole life?

And you know, it's appalling that the haven't started their formal investigation yet, I certainly would have thought it was well in progress.... Shame on them! Thank gawd there weren't more people in the mall at the time....it was a Saturday evening if I recall, was it not?

What a tragedy! Sorry to hear it. Hope they are able to get moving on rebuilding but considering what your winters are like, it will be surprising if they can make their goal. Hope there are folks working on getting the library needs ready. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful week! emoticon

For sure I listen to my inner voice. Usually when I DON'T, it turns out to be the wrong choice.

I lost my weight years ago listening to that inner voice. I have a tendency to ignore it anymore. Thanks for the reminder.

In the end, it's all up to us. Like when having the "right of way" doesn't keep you safe... defensive driving. Here's to taking care and listening to the uncommon inner voice!

Sometimes it's good to listen to that inner voice...intuition. Wish I did it more often...I'd be in better shape :)
