Active Recovery Day

Friday, January 04, 2013

Legs are a little sore from my workout yesterday so I decided it was time for a rest day from running or weights. I leashed up the Riley for a long walk. Went for an hour long walk in the crisp outside air. It was really nice. Only traveled 2.35 miles, but at least I was moving and stretching out the legs so they get leaner and stronger.

Got stopped by a random guy at the bus stop to tell me my dog looks just like the Raising Cane's dog. Sorry buddy, but Cane is about twice the size of my mutt, but they are the same color! Also, learned that the homeless guy that lives on the bus bench is afraid of dogs. He woke up enough to ask me if he was on a leash. Nooo, I'm only walking along one of the busiest streets of Baton Rouge. Why would I have my dog on a leash? Silly people. I feel sympathy for the guy, as I've been in that situation before, but luckily had the shelter of my car. He's got a large arsenal of blankets, so not much more I can do for him. Might make him some chicken soup one of these nights.

Breakfast is a Pink Lady apple with some PB.
Lunch/Dinner will likely be a big bag of steamed vegetables with salt and pepper.

I know I need some sort of protein, just not feeling the meat lately. Haven't been hungry much either. So far, I've had one or two day where I met my minimum calorie goal. Not going to eat if I'm not hungry. That's how I got here in the first place.

You live in Baton Rouge?! That is so exciting. I do too. I love walking outside. I have a son instead of a dog. Keep up the good work with the exercising.
