I have officially become a non-smoker!!! I'm so pleased with myself over this. I think because I've tried and have quit before and it was hard! This time was not so hard....which proves to me that I have a very strong will and I feel I can accomplish anything I set my mind to!
That aside, I'm starting off the year on a good high. Granted, I'm eating a bit more because I'm not smoking - I expected this might happen - but I'm trying to stick to healthy choices. But I am getting some cardio in. I actually walked for 15 minutes during one of my breaks instead of smoking. If it wasn't so cold I would have walked during lunch too - well I did walk...around the store shopping...lolol. Hey... I was moving and not sitting smoking and feeling stressed - that's a big plus!
Most important - I'm filling my mind with positive thoughts and happy memories before I fall asleep and then first thing when I awake. I lie in bed in the a.m. for 5 to 10 minutes pumping myself up with positive talk about what a wonderful day I'm planning to have. And during the day if I find my mind drifting in "that" other direction - I start positive self talk yet again and I think of humorous things to bring a smile to my face. I'm renaming 2013 as "The Happy Year!"
