Goals for 2013
Saturday, December 29, 2012
I feel like I benefit from making goals, especially written ones. It was wonderful to come back to my 2012 goals at the end of the year and look them over to see where I actually was. I didn't accomplish all my goals, but I was pleased to see progress in my life.
Here are my 2013 goals:
Spiritual
*Start a prayer journal and list to be more effective in my prayer life.
*Pray more
*Read the Bible daily. I don't want to set a goal to read through the Bible this year, but rather to absorb more of what I read. I will still use a list to account for what I have read throughout the year.
Health/Fitness
*walk or run 700 actual miles - thanks to keeping track of this in 2012 I can now see what realistic is and this will push me just a little.
*do one race - although I don't know which one this year as the one I have normally done is on the same day as a friend's son's wedding.
*eat 5 fruits/veggies each day. Although I didn't do this well in 2012, it is something I believe my body needs and is a worthy goal to keep striving for.
*Strength train 2 days a week.
*Drink 8 glasses of water per day. I did get better with this in 2012 but I would love to not miss a single day of drinking my water.
*Reach my goal weight of 150 pounds
Projects:
My goal in 2013 is to clean out every single cupboard and drawer in my house. There are 26 in my livingroom alone! I still have too much stuff. I want to rid my home of all unneccesary things. If I don't use it, don't love it, or someone else can benefit from it - it is finding another home.
I will come back and update this blog with my weight on Dec 31st. (188 - uggg!) That way I have a realistic picture of where I am. I also want to try to have some monthly written goals. I have a planner that has space for that, so I may do that there.
