My DD was busing from my mom's to her counseling appointment yesterday when she had a confrontation with a man on the bus over 1) her appearance and 2) her willingness to help someone in need.

1) she is 18, mixed ethnicity with a mohawk and gauges so you'd think she's punk or goth which she's not either, she's just herself which causes issues because she doesn't fit societies box of acceptable female

2) she helped an elderly woman load her cart of groceries onto the bus which is something she was raised to do which makes me proud

The issue was a man on the bus who decided he needed to voice his dislike at both her appearance as a hard a$$ and her willingness to help someone in need. She proceeded to tell him not to take his anger out on her just because he wasn't man enough to step up.

I'm thankful that it was only a verbal confrontation.
I'm equally thankfully that I have such wonderful, polite adult children.

Any way today is a better day, DH should be home either tonight or tomorrow morning so lots to get done. Feeling way better, going to continue taking it easy and not over doing it while I finish recuperating.

    People can be so rude.

Good for your daughter for not taking his verbal attacks & for helping out a person in need.

A little kindness goes a long way! Good for her & for making her mom proud! emoticon

You have a good reason to be proud of your DD. Too bad there are so many people in this world who focus on the exterior rather than looking for the inner soul of people.

Since your DD was raised right and has tact and manners, I am sure she id not point out that big, huge glaring upper case "L" on that guy's forehead either!! Would you do me a big favor and give her a big hug for me when she gets home? She deserves it..
I gotta wonder if that little old lady stuck her foot our in the aisle of that bus when Loser-man left the bus??!!!!! emoticon
