Back in Stride Again!

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

I am a HUGE R&B fan when it comes to music, and this ditty that I used for the title of this blog entry by Frankie Beverly and Maze seemed appropriate.

My downward spiral ended up getting worse on Sunday after getting stood up for a date and not looking forward to going back to work and dealing with the wage index auditor from hell. However, I got it out of my system (the worst binge in a year), got back to healthy eating yesterday as well as continuing with exercise, and the damage has been mitigated, thank goodness! I felt like such crap on Sunday night and Monday morning that I know I don't want to do that to my body again, so strangely enough, I think I'm better prepared for my trip to my parents' house on Saturday; I'm at least less anxious about it food-wise.

Now if I can just get over the anxiety of that 40 minute layover in Detroit, I'd be all set...but I figure that if my out-of-shape dad can make it, so can I! I'll just make sure I have my running shoes on and a Cliff bar in my bag for once I get to my connecting flight.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, everyone!

OMG I LOVE R&B too!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It's my favorite genre! And I know the song cuz I love Frankie Beverly & Maze! I just had to say that. I'm sorry you got stood up. That has happened to me before and it sucks. I'm glad you're back in stride again though!:)

I've had a rough couple of days myself food wise that I think was brought on by holiday prep anxiety and too much free time on my hands being alone (not a good combo). Thank you for your honesty and sharing. I've followed your example and have taken some steps to get me fully back on track for tomorrow: meals planed, fitness planned, to do list made, and printed the beating temptations pdf. I wish us both a calm and productive week.

I find it interesting that even when people do so well they still have things that set them off on the wrong path. It is great that you were able to catch yourself so quickly that little to no long term damage happened. You also learned how to deal better with an emotional challenge next time.
    Growth isn't always fun.
Hope you have a great Christmas.

Totally agree with LEB0401, it is a learning experience, had to work out after a binge, and it was no joke, I learnt a lesson though.
Good luck at the parents, I know you'll do fine.

Wow - guess it was a binge-y type of weekend. I'm so happy you are back up and going. You didn't let it win and that is so important.

Can't give you any airport advice - I don't fly. Hope you have a great holiday with your folks.
