The good things

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

There is oh so much complaining going on. It seems folks only give thanks or recognize their blessings at Thanksgiving vs every day. With all the negative self talk, all the negative regarding politics, guns, schools, kids, etc how about taking some time to recognize the positive/good things in life. Be there simple or complicated there are many we fail to see from day to day.

There was a photo of Marilyn Monroe posted today by Fitness World on facebook and she is quoted saying "Keep smiling, because life is a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile ab"out.” This is oh so very true.

Today I'm going to start my own daily good things blog and recognize the good things in my life and that I see around me.

My son - while he can be annoying, practices the art of a$$hole-ism as we call it. He is my right hand man, he can always make me smile or laugh. Despite our differences and the challenges we've faced mostly because of bad judgement on my part he is there for me.

My daughter - while trying to deal with her own depression and anxiety issues she too is the light of my life. Quite sarcastic and funny too I know I can count on her even though we don't always gets along the best. She sparks such a light in my mom that it is a joy to see and I love her animated behaviors, she is so passionate about many things.

The people who ride the bus who are willing to help someone out by breaking a $5 or $10 down to manageable bus fare or just covering a fare for someone in need.

What good things are going on in your life or around you that you've not really noticed. . . . .

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I agree that gratitude is an attitude (sorry for the rhyme!) that we should all cultivate at every time of the year. It's not always easy, but every day there is something we can be thankful about. I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!
