November Goals: My "week" schedule will run Sun-Sat

Fitness - Begin some cardio - exerbike/dogplay-walk 3x/week
Stretching - 5x week/ 20 min minimum

Nutrition - Get in my Magnesium and Selenium requirements 5x/week
3 Freggies a day

Personal - When the Fitbit arrives - get it up and running and tagged to Spark
Start a sleep diary to examine sleep hours/issues

I only met 2 of my goals for this month. I did purchase the Fitbit Zip and it is linked to SP. However, I am not a really big fan of it for a couple of reasons -
-daily walking around, just doing normal stuff - gets logged on SP as Fitness Minutes which they are not for me. I log exercise for fitness minutes. Thus I got a 500 fitness minute award.... emoticon but it was just steps in any normal day.
-the second thing about Fitbit Zip, I'm not crazy about is - it clocks an exorbitant amount of calories burned. It is no where close to what SP logs as calories burned. Some days it logged more calories burned than steps taken........
- the third thing I dislike is that to see yesterdays results I have to hook into a piece of technology to see that... I'm not all that "technology wired" so this means I can only see yesterday's results via a laptop/desktop as I do not have a cell phone that accommodates applications.

So I might have to "unlink" them - in order to get what I count as true Fitness minutes. I'm kinda wishing I had bought the one that also tracks sleep.

I have logged my sleep hours all month. I work Night shift - so some days I sleep ALOT. The SP sleep quiz says that we should be getting 7-9 hours of sleep a night. Well that works out to be 49-63 hours each week. Although my sleep tracks from 2 hours to 16 hours - I averaged 57-61 hours a week. This fits with the recommendation and I was surprised!

the other goals were not met mostly because I lost track of ... tracking. I have been caught up with foot/heel pain - it's consumed most of my thoughts and time over this past month. Deciding about an MRI vs a 2nd opinion and finding pain relief... etc..

The foot - I did have a 2nd opinion on the foot - seems like I have some structural changes happening to my foot and heel that will require a specialty shoe and then eventually surgery if it worsens. I'm certainly in no hurry for a foot surgery. So I am nursing the foot daily and making plans to buy new shoes.

As for the other goals - I'm counting them as unmet - because truthfully I can't go back and accurately figure out each day for each of those. I would say a definte 60% met - but missed tracking for a few stretches of days at a time.

For today - I am trying to get in the Christmas spirit - usually for me - I start with scents and lights. Hope it works!

Thanks for checking in and reading.

I'm sorry to hear about your foot pain, that can make a person cranky and sad. Maybe you need a really big "Happy Light"!
I have a FitBit and I really like it. I don't don't pay attention to the calories burned part, but I like the sleep tracking and the activity tracking. Most of the walking I do in a day is my walk with my dogs and that is very accurate. One thing I was very surprised by in the sleep tracking was how many times I wake up a night and how much that cuts down on the actual sleep I get.
I hope you can get your special shoes for Christmas!

A good pair of shoes is worth the investment.

That bit about the Fitbit is very interesting. That may be a dealbreaker for my purchase of it; I never thought of it over calculating things that way.

Sorry that your foot is still acting up. Hope you can get the right shoes quickly!

For Christmas spirit, I am all about the music, baby! I made a station on Pandora for it, and one of the radio stations here has started their 24/7 Christmas music. Woohoo!

Seems you are doing great and getting things done... even if you forget to track them sometimes!

It's all in how you perceive it.

I unlinked my fitbit from SP because of the same reason. It was saying that I burned a lot of calories, then SP said I wasn't eating enought. Ahhh! I still track my calories burned on SP. I think it's more accurate. I wish Fitbit/SP linked only very active minutes.

Good luck with your foot! I hope it works out.

Sending some spirit your way.......... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
