Thanksgiving plans

I've cooked a turkey every year since 1973. And this is the first year that I will not.
My plan: seared sea scallops. A "big" salad. Asparagus. Some mashed potatoes for my son, who, in spite of nearing old age, still believes that Mashed Potatoes are invested with magical powers (he is thin as a rail) and a small amount of cranberry sauce. For desert? A tangerine!

I feel so relieved that I won't have to get up early to cook. That I will not have to make the 58 ingredient stuffing. For this I am thankful and I am also thankful that I am within reach of a major weight loss goal of mine.

Have a fine time, all of you, and remember that it's a holiday in which contemplation and fellowship with family and friends should trump the food.
