Back after being absent for a while. Time seems to be in short supply.
I can't believe it's mid-November and what a year it's been; some good and some not so good. That's normal.
Had surgery on both eyes and a root canal. Decided I needed a vacation, so we took a trip to Niagara Falls about a month ago. We came home about a week before Sandy hit. What a mess that has been. We can identify with all that destruction, I grew up on the Texas Gulf coast and lived through several hurricanes. Recovery is always hard. I'm feeling really bad for those people. The Northeast is so heavily populated I can only imagine all the mess. When I saw the pictures it just looked like an impossible task.
If you have anything tacky to say to my next post please - Don't.
Think I've wasted a lot of time on FB and decided to stay away for a while, some of those posts are rude and not necessary with regards to the election. I happen to be part of the loosing side and really feel that the country has turned their back on the fact that 50% of the citizens were not for the status quo. When I look at the map of out country I see a divided country with a bleeding heart; as the center of our country is all red and have broken hearts. We only feel that we've lost our last chance to save this country from socialism or worse. I can hardly stand to watch the news and definitely can't stand FB. Guess it's the fact they aren't trying to heal this wounded/divided country.
I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving - it's my favorite holiday. All our children come to our house; it's always good to have us all here together. The smiles and laughs of the grandchildren make it all worth the effort. I have a lot to do in the next few days, but looking forward to it. Hope everybody has a good Thanksgiving - we all have so much to be thankful for.

When such a large portion of our voting population has a personal financial interest in the election it is hard to vote the country's best interest over one's personal interest. God is still in control with or without the USA, As for me and my house.......

I agree with you...there were a lot of rude comments made on facebook from BOTH sides! I read an article on SparkPeople that helps focus on what you mentioned - giving thanks! http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource

I was a Romney supporter and proud to be. I'm 75 and lived thru what was called the great depression. I hope that is as bad as it ever gets but I'm afraid for these next four years. We must pray every day for our country!

Sorry to throw that in with your happy Thanksgiving plans. I know it will be a wonderful time with all of your family. I always enjoy my family Thanksgivings together. emoticon emoticon
