But first I had to check out the Finches in my yard.
We were getting ready to hop into the car, when I spotted a new rose.
Driving on Elizabeth Lake Rd., and we came to the area where they have been working on the towers. The crazies were standing on the towers again. There were two on the very top, and two men below them. The Helicopter was there again as well.
Alice was fascinated.
We turned left on Bouquet Canyon. The Bison were out, so we stopped for some pics.
I wanted to drive out to Bouquet Canyon to view the fall colors. There is a variety of trees in the canyon, and the fall colors just pop out at you. However, the closer we got to the canyon the more we noticed the trees are just starting to turn color. So we turned around and drove west to Green Valley. We were driving up a winding road, and passed Bouquet Canyon Dam. The water is real low due to lack of rain from last winter, and this spring. It still looked pretty though.
We drove about 4 miles up the road, and there was the forest. It was nice because there were 3 or 4 variety of pine trees. This was a good spot for us to walk around, and let the dogs stretch their legs.
I noticed some wild flowers.
We reached Green Valley. It is a small town. Just a little over 1,000 people live there. Right off the road is a sign that says "Pony Express"(mail and more), and next to the sign are mail boxes. Really cute how they designed it.
As I was taking the pictures I could hear a Woodpecker. I walked around the corner to a Pine Tree. I knew the bird was up there, but the tree was so tall I couldn't find the bird. The tree was interesting so I took pictures of it.
I then noticed that the Woodpeckers drilled holes all over the tree. These holes were at eye level.
Then the Squirrels came along and put their Acorns in the holes
We decided it was time to head back home. We were about 5 mins. from home, and spotted two Red Tail Hawks, but the pictures didn't turn out very well. However, DH noticed the Moon and suggested I get a pic or two of it.
We drove just a little further down the road, and let the dogs run a bit again. The sun was starting to get lower in the sky. Made for some interesting pictures.
Have a good Sunday. We will be going to the ranch tomorrow!
