So I started my weight loss journey with sparkpeople just over 2 years ago and I'm happy to say that in the time since I lost 30lbs over the course of 7 Months after joining, I have maintained give or take a few lbs :)
It is not easy. You can never allow yourself to become complacent, or you run the risk of falling off the wagon so to speak...I also find it extremely challenging to stay as motivated as when I first started, I look back at those early days and almost wish I could start over as I remember just being SO excited to be continually pushing my body towards progress it has never seen - I miss the 12 week picture progress challenge I took part in, everything about that was just so incredibly motivating!!
At the beginning of this year I hired a trainer to help me prepare for my first Fitness Competition, that helped get the fire back!!! I worked very hard with her and accomplished physical feats that I never in my wildest dreams thought my body could do - It was soo thrilling :)
I am hoping to compete again next year, so will start training again beginning of Jan. 2013.
Until then, I need to find something to do to keep challenging my fitness level!! Box Jumps off an 18 inch platform definately test that, I will aim to do at least 3 sets twice a week and start upping my reps...I have a box at home I having been using once or twice a week, I usually do 3 sets of 12 reps. I will add inverted rows back into the mix as well, starting with 3 sets of 12reps at least twice a week. This way when January hits I won't be starting my training from square one! I will also continue to work on my running times to improve my pace..
I am going to Mexico next March!! This should serve to be motivation as well, I usually live in my bikini when I'm there so I will just keep bringing it in the fitness dept. so I can rock that bathing suit looking better than ever before!
My new phone arrived last week so I thought it would be fun to take some progress pics to test the camara out - I am very proud of how far I have come since I started sparking!! I am so happy with myself for staying the course and remaining consistant with this journey, it is challenging but so worth it! Everyday counts, I will never forget that.
It just isn't worth it to go back once you've built enough momentum to keep moving forward :)
Thanks for reading guys! I hope everyone is enjoying this fall weather that has now arrived, take care everyone and keep on Sparking!!
