P90X Week 1 Day 1 Chest & Back & Ab Ripper X

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

So yesterday i started with my 90 day challenge of completing P90X, i was feeling quite nervous about starting as i am so unfit at the moment and I am probably the heaviest i have ever been not pregnant!!

Husband and baby were tucked up in bed, i got into my workout gear (or rather squeezed into) and pressed play on the DVD player...

Chest & Back

This was hard! I soon realised during the very first push up that i have ZERO upper body strength, i have to be completely honest i could not do one full push up on any of the moves but i still tried, i got half way down and i had to stay on my knees but i still did the exercises and didn't give up. I am aching a little bit today but think if i pushed myself more i would be aching more.

I also need heavier weights as only currently have 2x 1.5 kg, 2x 1 kg & 2x .5kg weights. It is my birthday next month so i am going to ask my parents to get me some heavier dumb bells... i must be serious about this if i want weights for my birthday!!

I took some grainy before photos but husband is going to take some better ones tonight, here is what i look like on day one...

NOT PRETTY AT ALL! But that is why i am here... in 90 days i should hopefully look different!!

At the end of the workout, you also do a 15 minute Ab workout. I thought i can do 15 minutes but these exercises were tough! Tony Horton is mean and a legend at the same time... i have a soft spot for him, he is going to change my life!

I still need to work on my nutrition, we are on a tight budget so i need to make healthy food cheaply, we're going to eat more soups and stews, which will be good as long as i maintain a portion control.

Right, it's Plyometrics tonight, I'll let you know how i get on :)

I have roughly the same amount of weight to lose! I've been thinking about trying p90x. I have the dvds, I just haven't put them in the dvd player. I've been jogging, doing yoga, and light weights, but I don't seem to be making progress anymore. Maybe p90x is just what I need. Maybe I'll watch the dvd and ponder trying it.

Good luck with this, I'm intrigued to see your progress!

Good luck with your P90X program. Hope you will be able see results very soon.
Don't think I would dear to try myself - i am not very keen on using weights too much. I prefer running and I am big fan of Jillian Michaels DVD workouts.
