Just keep swimming

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

So I'm about 3 weeks into tracking calories and food in general and about a good solid 2 weeks into working out regularly which is HUGE for me since I have always given up after a day or two.
Now I still don't own a scale so I'm wondering how else I can check to see if I am making any progress, its kinda driving me crazy to not know if I'm losing or *gasp* gaining at all. I survived some pretty good obstacles this weekend while hanging out with a friend, for instance over lunch I ordered a sandwich with a side of potato salad which I didn't eat much of at all, and she ordered fries, offered a bunch to me but i ate 2 and said no thanks that's all. I think I took her off guard because after lunch we went out for icees which i so no thanks so and got myself an unsweetened green tea instead (my drink from Starbucks) Me and her have been friends for about 16yrs so she has been through it all with me and the person she knows would have eaten all her fries and ordered a huge ass icee to finish it off! I'm NOT that person anymore the new me says no thanks that's not healthy for me and I don't put that in my body anymore! We went back to her house to coupon and she offered me more junk (because its what she had) and I just let her know I'm changing my lifestyle and that's just not for me anymore but thank you, I'll just take a nice bottle of water! So now for the best part of it all..... I wasn't even tempted at all by any of the junk, I literally did not want it! Yay for me lol.
Today was the start of instead of just working out for the 10 to 15 mins that I do the cardio kickboxing video I did 30 mins. I'm not sure if I should make any changes to what my calorie intake is but Im sure I will figure it all out as I go along. Alright I need to head to bed I have plenty to do tomorrow and need to work on getting some sleep, my insomnia is really starting to kick my butt! I can do this, this time it feels right, and like Dori I will just keep swimming.
