Strength in Adversity

I read a Blog post by Angela Jia Kim on how she dealt with a recent law suit. For her, it was a stressful situation compounded by the feelings of betrayal. Her Blog focus is primarily on business building but this post spoke to me in a personal way, as well. A great post on when life gives you lemons, make lemonade but it got me to thinking, how have I been dealing with adversity in my life lately? I can assure you, it hasn't been in that way. Not lately. Here's the statement that gave me cause for pause:
"When faced with adversity, you can choose to spend your limited time in something positive and powerful or you can spend it in something negative and victimizing. Whatever energy you choose, will grow."
So true, so true. Do I focus on what I can eat or do I focus on what I can't? Do I focus on what exercises I can't do because of an injury or illness or do I focus on what I can? How do I deal with emotional intruders and life's barriers? There's something said for finding a solution to life's little problems and focusing on the solution and what I want rather than the problem. I have posted this statement where I can see it often so I can remind myself to focus on what I want, not what I don't. For me, staying positive is being strong and effective. I want to know deep down that when I set out to do something, I can accomplish it. Don't you?
