Yesterday was officially 3 months since I started with Spark People. I have learned so much about burning calories, counting calories, what kind of foods have the most calories and more! I never thought a program like this would be effective but I figured I would give it a try. I can really see a difference in the way my clothes fit, I have lost 12 lbs but more than that, I have lost inches and my belly is slowly losing some of that excess adipose tissue!
The support on this site is great and I can't believe how much I look forward to logging on each day and reading the blogs that everyone posts and feeling so together with everyone as we go thru the ups and downs of losing weight.
I consistently log my food and exercise each day and that is truly key when trying to lose weight. Because I work in a stressful dept of a hospital, I like to bring chocolate to my staff and I usually don't eat myself, but every once in a while I do have to have a piece too. The one day I had a reeces peanut butter cup, I looked at the calories after I ate it and then I was annoyed since that was 1/2 the calories I eat for lunch in that one little cup. Really makes you think twice before putting that wonderful tasting thing in your mouth!
When I found this site, I was really looking for "diet pills" that had been shown to be effective but in the long run, the only effective way to lose weight and to keep it off is thru life style change and exercise. I am lucky enough to have my own equipment here and my husband kept wanting to put it away, but I kept saying no, I know I will go back and use it and some point and that point came when I almost hit the 190 mark and decided enough is enough, get your butt back on it and lose that extra weight!
