The BLC challenge came at a great time. It was after my trip to the States for my DS's wedding, where I gained, no lie, 9 pounds! And, it ends the day before my birthday.
I love having goals and they really help me to accomplish things in my life that I might not even attempt otherwise. BTW, this is longest challenge I have participated in. Most of the ones I have done are around 8 weeks. And, speaking of challenges, I was just notified last week that I won a 60 day challenge that I entered with T Tapp. I was in the "more to lose" category for those over 50, and ended up 1st runner up! (nice name for 2nd place...) I could either go to their retreat for 5 days at half the price, or choose items from their website in the amount of $125! Cool! I have until the end of the year to spend my T. Tapp dollars. I won't be going to the retreat - even though I would like to. I had hoped that I would win 1st place and be able to go for free! It is in Tampa, Florida, where my sister and mom live, so that would have been great to visit them while I was there. And, just for information, during this 60 day challenge, I lost a total of 24.5 inches! Which I think is amazing. I lost 7 inches on my waist alone!
Okay, back to the here and now...My 12 week goals!
Run 3 days a week for at least 5 kilometers.
Play volleyball once a week
Do ST - which is my weak point, following Jamie Eason's program as much as I am
able since I do not have a gym or the equipment. 25+ pound dumbbells are going to
have to be adequate.
I will also do my best on all the challenges that are given weekly.
I do not plan to WOW anyone with points, etc for these challenges. If I can't keep up a
program, then it won't be a lifestyle, and then I will just gain the weight back. I want to
do what is reasonable that I will be able to continue until I am 90!
Track, track, track... It is 80% of the battle in my opinion.
For right now, I am eating on the Jamie Eason plan - but I do not know if I will strictly
follow this or not. Likely not for the same reason as I mentioned for over-exercising.
However, I do know that I NEED to eat a lot of protein. I could go a long time without
meat...but then my iron drops and that is no good either! So, I will strive to stay within
my calorie range, keep my protein high, eat food that my body needs rather than what it
wants, concentrating on whole foods as much as possible.
My goal is to lose a total of 15 pounds. Remember, I gained those 9 pounds. By the time the challenge started I had lost 2.4 pounds, but there is a lot more work to be done. My goal weight by the end of this challenge is 166.6. I think it is ambitious, yet doable. That will put me close enough to goal to be able to see the finish line, which is 149.
I will also do my best to support others on my team.
And now, without further ado, here are my before pictures. It was either headless, or none because I just don't feel like getting all prettied up. Besides, you're going to have to give me more than 150 points to post great pictures!
I'll try to take some really awesome after pictures though!
