I can't believe my wedding is over and I'm married (and have been for over a week now)! We had planned this wedding for 7 months and it came and went so quickly! But I guess that's how life is, and you just have to learn to savor those special times! And it sure was a special time!
On the day of my wedding my photographer gave me the advice to take mental pictures of the day because it would go by so fast. So I did. And of course I have actual pictures, but my mental pictures of the day include so much more than what is seen- the feelings, my thoughts, the look on Paul's face when he first saw me, the smell of the grass after the rain, the taste of the cake and the feel of our first kiss as husband and wife. It was all so magical and perfect.
A while back I said I was stressed about my wedding day, but really I wasn't stressed, I was excited. I was full of emotions on the morning of my wedding. Most of my family and friends from Israel could not be there with us in person so I received a lot of phone calls, cards and even a recorded message from them. It was very emotional for me. We're going to have another wedding celebration in Israel in December but it still meant a lot to me that my family and friends took the time to congratulate me and thought of me on that day.
I arrived at the wedding venue with my mom at around noon and we had a cabin there for all of us to get ready (there's one for the guys and one for the girls). It was great! The staff took care of everything! I was totally relaxed and knew I didn't have to worry about a thing because they'd take care of it all. My friend did my makeup (and she did an amazing job!) and my hair dresser came to the cabin as well. It was fun being pampered :)
The ceremony was planned to start at 7pm and we were going to do some pictures before hand. At 4:30pm it started pouring rain (the ceremony was planned to be held outdoors)! But I knew nothing could ruin my day so I didn't sweat it. And sure enough, half an hour later the rain stopped, the staff cleaned off everything, the temperature cooled down a bit, and it was perfect!
The rest of the evening flew by! Paul was moved to tears when he saw me walk down the aisle. I thought I would cry but I was so happy I just couldn't stop smiling! The whole night the smile didn't come off my face. It was really an incredible night. All our friends and family has a great time and they still tell us how amazing everything was!
I can't wait to get the pictures and video from our photographer, but here are a few that were taken by friends and the owner of the wedding venue (I'll post more as they come!):
Before the ceremony, we were around the corner from each other so that we wouldn't be able to see each other :)
Breaking the glass!
