Back on track!

So today I went to the dr for my monthly check in. I have the lap band so I get an official weigh in every month. This month I gain half a pound since last month. I am frustrated with that because I know that I am working out. So I think it is my eating. I asked my Dr. to put more fluid in my band---can I just say it is weird to sit there with a needle sticking out of your belly and not feel anything! I am now on liquids today and tomorrow but I'm hoping this will help me. While I'm on my two days of liquids I'm going to try to figure out some new recipes that are also healthy. I bought the Spark Cookbook and I can't wait to try it out. Does anyone have any favorite recipes or recommendations from the cookbook? Hope that everyone has a great weekend!!

Could the half pound gain be muscle from working out more? Tell us what you think of the cookbook!

@ Jibbie You can definitely eat "around" your band with things like milkshakes, ice cream, mashed potatoes but what I am now realizing is that I need to make the changes to eat healthy. I have lost 40 with the band but I need to lose a lot more :-) I'll let you know how much cookbook experience goes!! emoticon

I haven't tried the Spark cookbook. I hope your band adjustment helps :)

I've read that there are people who get the LapBand and lose nothing, as one woman said she drank milkshakes all day. I've been reading "THE SUGAR FIX" by Richard Johnson M.D. who is a professor at the U. of Colorado and treats kidney patients. He has clips on YouTube.

I had the by pass, so there are no adjustments for me, but I wanted to tell you that I have loved everything I have made from the spark cookbook. Close your eyes and open the book and start from there. Good Luck.
