I am walking from Moscow, Russia to Lucca Italy (virtually). Today I reached Kaliningrad---after almost a year of walking. Kaliningrad is on the Baltic Sea. It is an odd part of Russia in that it's not connected geographically to the rest of Russia. It used to be a part of Prussia called Königsberg.
I started last September and am about half-way. Virtual walks are great; one gets a sense of true achievement. It was an ambitious undertaking: 2796 km or 1737.35 miles.
I still have to cover 1905 KM or 1183.71 miles to get from Kaliningrad to Lucca, Italy. I'll be going through Poland, Germany, Austria and the Italian Alps. I've already been through Russia and Lithuania. I should arrive in Poland this upcoming weekend--probably Saturday or Sunday! How exciting! Onward! Forward to September! I'll note some specific goals.
